Embargo Republica is an authentic contemporary Cuban club.

Working alongside Julian Taylor Associates our role in this project was ‘creative realisation’. Visitors enter through a cigar shop to discover a very industrial space featuring exposed brickwork, vintage furnishings and authentic hand painted Caribbean poster graphics taking guests a heartbeat away from Cuban club culture. Part of our role was to bring to life the decorative installations such as the guitar wall and huge flag wall as well as hand painting the graphics on the terrace and behind the bar.

Case Study: Embargo Republica

Embargo Republica’s blend of rhythm, colour, spirit and style ensures that Cuban values are never far from the surface. Our role was to create and build certain elements of the design bringing to life the Huge flag wall, building the wrought iron work along the length of the polished wooden bar top adding opulence in complete juxtaposition to the hand painted wall graphics and images in the style of old Cuban poster graphics. Together with neon lighting, bare light bulbs and exposed steel in the ceiling all of these elements combined take you into the beating heart of a Caribbean dance floor.
