Case Study: NY Fold, Hackney
The new apartment block has a courtyard so we added some rustic folding benches. The large windows allow the aged finishes inside to be seen, which softens the modern building exterior.
We designed a blonde timber framework to sit over the bare concrete walls. These have a layer of worn finishes inspired by urban city buildings, such as grafitti covered brickwork and peeling plaster lathes. The loose furniture was reclaimed, and booth seating in an aged tan leather.
We designed an industrial style gantry over the reclaimed tin tile bar, with an exposed brickwork back drop.
The bar has a crisp yellow Corian top and reclaimed american tin ceiling tiled front
Shelving with vintage ice buckets were displayed as fun connection to ‘The Big Apple’
Signage was kept casual and low-tec
